Letters to The Editor

Issue Date - 26/05/2011

Conceptual
I had contributed my inputs for a story in Business & Economy only a few months back. Although I do not have regular access to the print version, I do keep referring to the web version once in a while. I did get my hands on the issue dated May 12, 2011, titled “Is the world know ready for an Indian style of management?” On face value, I thought it would be a regular cover story talking about how management in India has evolved. But once I ran through it, it turned out to be an offering that can completely change a reader’s perspective and outlook. I actually realised that India’s rich culture has a lot to teach in management. Additionally, I find the Stratagem section one of the best there ever is across all magazines in the business category. It was interesting to read how a corporation like Walt Disney was marred by internal management disruptions for almost a decade. I also found the idea of a management professor talking about business, an interesting concept.

Very Analytical
The Business & Economy magazine is a pure delight. The stories are very comprehensive in nature supported by graphs and charts which make it more appealing and interesting to readers. It is taking journalism to newer heights by bringing such well researched and insightful stories to the common man. This magazine with its global standard of writing definitely makes for an engrossing fortnightly reading affair. With each passing day, B&E is becoming a highly analytical and interactive magazine, which includes new and interesting interviews in sections like Hip Shot every time. The last cover story relating to international B-school deans of Indian origin was very interesting. It’s in a way, very comforting to see Indians reach such heights of recognition, especially in the academic domain. Last but not the least, the other stories in the magazine were very well illustrated. I wish you all the very best and hope your team continues such intellectual and meaningful journalism all through out.
