US moves to above-trend growth

If economists are to be believed then the most significant shift across globe in 2011 and 2012 is likely to be a stronger economic growth in the United States. In fact, a recent report from Goldman Sachs Global Economics, Commodities & Strategy Research indicates towards a substantial acceleration in the real GDP growth of US over the next two years to reach an impressive 4% pace by mid-2012.

A pick-up in organic growth

The adjacent chart shows the real US GDP growth including & excluding the short-term effects of inventory swings & fiscal stimulus. The latter measure is the estimate of organic growth. After a deep downturn, from 2007 to mid-2009, & near-stagnation from mid-2009 to mid-2010, organic growth is now showing an impressive acceleration in US and seems to be on track for a 5% growth rate in the Q4 2010.
