Issue Date - 08/12/2011
V. Balakrishnan
Director & CFO Infosys

Balakrishnan fondly remembers being called Nostardamus by senior Bank of America executives; for he actually predicted the 2008 financial crisis six months before it happened! Bala (as he is fondly called) joined Infosys in 1991. His contribution towards steadying and steering the Infosys ship has been exemplary; be it w.r.t. the company’s India IPO in1993, first overseas listing in 1999, the three sponsored secondary offerings or its first acquisition in Australia. He was promoted to the board of the company last year. Bala completed his B.Sc. from University of Madras and also holds ACA, ACS and AICWA degrees.
